Permanent Tooth Replacement in Gangnam Seoul

Replacing a missing tooth protects your bite and your other teeth. We explain implants, bridges and implant dentures in English so you can choose with confidence.

In short: the main long-term options are dental implants, fixed bridges and implant-supported dentures. Implants replace the root and leave neighbouring teeth alone; bridges are quicker but rely on the teeth either side; implant dentures suit people missing most teeth. Your dentist recommends an option after an exam and 3D CT.

Why replace a tooth

Why a gap matters

After a tooth is lost, neighbouring teeth can tilt, the opposite tooth can drift and the bone in the gap slowly shrinks.

Dr. Wook-Dong Kim, Dr. Sung-Ook Oh and Dr. Il-Hyun Kim plan replacements around your bite, bone and budget; our in-house lab makes the final work.

Single gaps

Implant or bridge

Both are fixed and look natural.

  • Implant: stands alone, protects bone
  • Bridge: crowns on neighbouring teeth
Several or all teeth

Implant-supported dentures

A denture that clips or screws onto implants.

  • More stable than a conventional denture
  • Fewer implants than one per tooth

Implants

Benefits & limitations

  • No cutting of healthy teeth
  • Help preserve the jawbone
  • Need surgery and months of healing
  • May need a bone graft

Bridges

Benefits & limitations

  • Fixed and faster — no surgery
  • Ideal if neighbours already need crowns
  • Neighbouring teeth are reshaped
  • Bone under the gap is not preserved

Questions patients ask us

Permanent tooth replacement FAQ

What is the most permanent way to replace a missing tooth?
An implant is generally the longest-lasting option because it replaces the root. Bridges are also fixed but depend on the supporting teeth.
Implant or bridge — which is better?
If the neighbouring teeth are healthy and bone is sufficient, an implant is often preferred. If those teeth already need crowns, a bridge can be a good choice.
How much does tooth replacement cost in Seoul?
Cost depends on your diagnosis, the materials and the number of teeth or visits involved. After your examination we give you a written, itemised quote in English before any treatment begins.
Can I finish treatment during one trip?
A bridge can usually be done in 1–2 weeks. Implants normally need a second visit after healing.
Do your dentists speak English?
Yes. Your dentist explains everything in English, and our coordinator Ms. Choi has helped international patients here for over 15 years.
