Laser Teeth Cleaning in Gangnam Seoul

Looking for laser teeth cleaning? The foundation of every clean mouth is a thorough professional cleaning (scaling). We start there — and discuss laser-assisted options at your consultation.

In short: laser teeth cleaning usually means using a dental laser alongside a professional cleaning, mainly to help treat inflamed gum pockets. It does not replace scaling, which removes plaque and tartar from the teeth. At A Plus, your dentist checks your teeth and gums first and explains whether a laser-assisted option is suitable for you.

Understanding cleaning options

What is laser teeth cleaning?

Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria. Left on the teeth, it hardens into tartar (calculus), which only professional instruments can remove.

A dental laser is a light-based tool sometimes used with deep cleaning to reduce bacteria and inflamed tissue in gum pockets. Whether it adds benefit depends on your gums.

Core treatment

Professional cleaning (scaling)

Removes plaque and tartar above and just below the gum line.

  • Suitable for almost everyone
  • Usually one short visit
  • Recommended every 6–12 months
Discussed at consultation

Laser-assisted cleaning

An add-on to deep cleaning for selected gum pockets.

  • Not a replacement for scaling
  • Depends on your gum condition
  • Your dentist advises if it is suitable

Questions patients ask us

Laser teeth cleaning FAQ

Do you offer laser teeth cleaning in Gangnam?
Every cleaning at A Plus starts with professional scaling. If your gums need more, your dentist will explain whether a laser-assisted option is suitable for you.
Is laser cleaning better than regular scaling?
Not on its own. A laser can help as an add-on for inflamed gum pockets, but scaling is still what removes tartar.
Does a teeth cleaning hurt?
Most people feel only scraping and vibration. Sensitive areas or deep cleaning can be numbed with local anaesthetic.
Is scaling covered by insurance in Korea?
For NHIS-enrolled adults, one scaling a year is partly covered. We also provide English receipts.
Do you have English-speaking dentists?
Yes. Our dentists explain your diagnosis and options in English, and our English coordinator, Ms. Choi, has helped international patients at A Plus for over 15 years.
