Dental Sealants in Gangnam Seoul

Back teeth have deep grooves where food and bacteria hide. A sealant is a thin protective coating that helps keep those grooves clean.

In short: a dental sealant is a thin tooth-coloured resin coating painted onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth to help prevent cavities. It is most often used for children and teens once their permanent molars come through, but some adults benefit too. Applying it is quick, needs no drilling or injection, and your dentist will advise whether it suits your teeth.

Understanding sealants

What are dental sealants?

The chewing surfaces of molars have narrow pits and grooves (fissures) that toothbrush bristles struggle to reach. Many cavities in children start there.

A sealant flows into these grooves and hardens, making the surface smoother and easier to clean. It works alongside brushing and fluoride, not instead of them.
