Night Guards for Bruxism in Gangnam Seoul

Waking with a sore jaw or worn teeth? A custom night guard helps protect your teeth from grinding while you sleep.

In short: bruxism means grinding or clenching your teeth, often during sleep. A night guard (occlusal splint) is a custom tray worn at night that takes the force instead of your teeth. It does not stop grinding, but it helps reduce tooth wear, damage to fillings and crowns, and strain on the jaw muscles.

Understanding bruxism

What is bruxism?

Bruxism is the habit of grinding or clenching the teeth. Many people do it in their sleep and do not know until a dentist sees the wear or a partner hears it.

Over time it can flatten and chip teeth, crack fillings and tire the jaw muscles. Your dentist will look for the signs and advise on protection.

Night guard & bruxism FAQ

Will a night guard stop me grinding?
Not usually. It protects your teeth and reduces strain, while stress and sleep habits are addressed separately.
Hard or soft night guard?
Soft guards can suit light grinding; hard guards are more durable for heavier grinding. Your dentist will advise.
Can grinding crack my teeth?
Yes. Years of grinding can wear enamel and crack teeth or fillings, which may need crowns.
How long does a night guard last?
It depends on the material and how hard you grind. We check it at check-ups.
How much does a night guard cost in Gangnam?
Cost depends on your diagnosis, the materials and the number of teeth or visits involved. After your examination we give you a written, itemised quote in English before any treatment begins.
